Braeside is an historic homestead roughly situated halfway between Warwick & Stanthorpe. It has been recently restored to its former glory incorporating many elements of the original building’s history in its restoration. Where the builders have uncovered original features i.e the first slab hut and the original chimney these have been left exposed and covered with sheets of acrylic. The effect is amazing, showing the true history of the building without sacrificing on the quality of the finish.
I had a blast photographing this place, for the first time in Australia I think I got a true sense of the history of this place. I felt that it was a true pioneering outpost and played a very important part of queensland’s history.
